Hey

Im having a problem with my T610 I believe. Lately my battery has been draining REALLY REALLY fast. And I havent even used the phone that much, like 5 sms a day on average, NO camera use, NO mms use, just a few short calls.

Battery seems to last max 48h, while before it lasted 5-6 days on same usage level!

The only explanation I can find to this is that Ive started using silent mode alot more since Ive started school again.

Can there be a bug here??
Anyone else experienced something similar to this?

regards
CavemaN

ps. Ive recharged the battery as you should, totally discharging it and all that stuff.

hmmm. I always use silent mode and can say I am quite happy witrh my battery life but then I have nothing to compare with since I never use ringtones.

It could possibly be that the vibrator in the phone consumes more power than playing tunes but thats just a guess.

Did you have vibrate set on when you were not using silent previously? i.e. did it ring AND vibrate?

yes, Ive always had vibrate AND ring on when not using silent, so it cant be that either.

One other thing, when I had the phone close to my computer speaker system, it gave that noise you get just before you get a SMS or a phonecall every few seconds, at least a similar sound, like it was searching for something..

Could this be a reason too?

I havent experienced anything like that before..

no, that noise is normal and all phones do that near speakers, radios etc.

Its interference due to the phone powering its transmissions up as a call or text message is coming in. It can also been when the phone checks that the network is still there. If you hold it near speaker or whatever during the call you will hear that noise constantly.

This interference also interrupts my logitech cordless mouse too if its too close!

yes I know that but is it supposed to do a similar noise like every 5 seconds?

the reception where I live is everything from 1-5 bars. The T610 doesnt have the best reception around=/

Do you use gprs? Do you have the full blue gprs triangle or just the outline. A friend of mine had some problems with battery draining fast. It turned out that the phone was trying to get gprs coverage, but failed. Therefore constantly accessing the network. This message was posted from a T610

My guess is you don't get good reception in the classroom and your phone is constantly hunting for signal.

actually I have 4-5 bars constantly in my classroom, so I guess it cant be that either..

Its so strange really, the battery is almost drained now, and its not even 48h since I charged it the last time =/
