I am stuck in Sweden in Göteburg after having my 3 month old car and all mine and my famalies belongings stolen from outside our hotel. The hotel is the novotel in the Klippan area of Göteburg. The car is a Kia Sedona LX MPV with the licences plate no PX-03-VXF. If any of you Swedish esato members see or here of this car or are offered any cheap DVD's a HP laptop a Motorolar T720 on Orange or a R520m in siver a P800 on Orange an incar DVD system made by Centurian, or parts for one of these cars then please contact me at the novotel hotel room 547 or Göteburg police please. The car was stolen sometime between 21:00 on the 30/8/03 and 07:00 on the 31/8/03. This car is used for my buissines in the UK so now I am not only stuck here as the police will not let us return home, but I now have no way of earning a living back in the UK. Any help on this matter is most welcome.

Good luck pal.

You try to carry six suit casses and two weeks worth of gear for a family of four into a hotel for one night. There were 12 other british cars in the car park, all loaded with stuff and none of them were hit.

My sympathy goes to you, volvoman. If the parking lot belongs to the hotel or it is a pay-parking you have the right to ask for compensations from the hotel or the parking lot owner.

Hotel are being very good at the moment with phone calls and so on. Insurance are paying for the hotel and travel expensys, so no problem there. I am going to wait until I get back to the UK before billing people as at the moment I just want to get home as quick as I can with as little fuss as possible. Biggest problem is replacment time back home for the car, as I use it for my buissines I am stuffed when I get home until I can get it replaced.. Thanks for your sympathy like I say just want to get home. Crazy thing is, there is a camera facing right at where my car was, but due to Swedish law, they are not allowd to record any footage they can only watch. Had it been in the UK they would have had vidio of the theft and maybe been able to catch them. Still as it satnds at the moment we are going home on thursday so back in good old blighty on Friday.

A privacy issue that unfortunately backfired at you, volvoman. Too bad... I really hope you get this sorted out as soon as possible. A couple of months ago I was faced with a similar problem: some individuals tried to break into our house while we were inside. While I got them running, the psychological implications of that event were the toughest to cope with. Especially for my girlfriend. So try to reassure your family to the best of your abilities and try to keep it cool.

judge thanks for your comments, insurance company seem to be working well at the moment. My wife has started to take it really badly now. Kids seem to be OK but my daughter who is nine had nightmares all last night, that was hard to cope with. Wife has been in bed all day today not well at all, but we should be back in the UK on Friday morning, and then I can start to get things back to normall.
Thanks for all concerned, and if anyone does have any info on the car especialy the belongings inside it then it will be appreciated.
