Today is a very sad day. My P800 died - well sort of.

When I was going to use my P800 today all I saw was a bright white screen. At the bottom was perhaps 35 - 45 dead pixels in two half-circular regions at the bottom of the display. And nothing else...

So I turned it off and on again. This time I saw the SE logo and heard the startup sound, BUT everything was upside-down, mirrored left-right, and apart from the partially dead pixels, everything was blue.

The interesting part here is I could still enter in the pin code, but the P800 was responding to the normal locations. I.e. when entering in the pin code, I had to guess where the numbers would have normally been located in order to go into the phone.

So I guess later on today or tomorrow I'll see if I can get it repaired.

Anyone else have similar horror stories?

Try master reset, it works on r380 when you have a screen problem... This message was posted from a T610

I was walking out to the car once and I was busy texting someone, so much so that I didn't see a large rock lying on the ground. I tripped and the phone went flying from my grasp!
My scream of terror could be heard for miles around. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as I saw the phone hurtle up into the air and then with Newtonian precision the force of gravity rapidly brought it to a stop and sent it plummetting back towards the ground.
Instinct took over, the way a mother seeing her child in danger might respond, I threw my body forwards. Crashing through a pile of rubbish waiting to be collected, my fingers ached as I thrust them out trying to reach just a little further.
The world stopped for an instant as the phone neared the ground, I could feel blood rushing around my body, my heart was about to burst ...
The next thing I knew I was lying on the ground covwered in rubbish, but with my P800 safely in my outstretched hand! The sweat was pouring from me, I was panting like a sick dog and my limbs felt weak.
I staggered back inside for a few minutes, had a damn good scotch to calm me down and went back outside, this time with my P800 safely strapped to my wrist and in my pocket. I held it in a vice like grip for days after that.

many of u might hv read this in some other thread b4
I actually willingly threw my P800 against the wall
I was very pissed at it
it caused me to loose a lot of hot girl's numbers
it crashed while backing up

then I remembered that I had synced the phone's contacts earlier
but I had already thrown it against the wall

it survived.. not a scratch

My baby took a battering last night I was at work and had it charging, and I had to leave my desk, and as I pulled my chair back, I realised the wire was tangle up in my headset, and my phone shot off my desk, and as my phone was on its way down to the floor, movie style it stopped sudden, like a bumgee jumping phone, the charger cord was too short! haha, anyway, the shock of it stopping unplugged the phone and it dropped the last 30cms onto the carpet with a lil bounce, and yes, I yelled, yes every caller and cs rep in the building heard "aah crap!".
But my phone lived, and she's happily in cradle now just been synched.
Oh it's like having an electric blue kid!

Like you all I am very attached to my P800. I've owned many PDAs (fortunatley my wife has never counted them!) and I also once used the Ericsson R380. But none of these get as much use as my P800 - why do we love the P800 so much? Any thoughts? Subject for a new thread?

And yes I have dropped my P800 twice on a carpeted floor within about 2 weeks of buying it!!! But it has survived.
