What is the best option for US T-MOB coverage? I was going to get a T681 then I saw that the T610 had more features and was cheaper (after rebates). I do some research and I hear that the reception often renders the T610 useless as a phone.

What is the best option for a small bluetooth phone with good reception?

My T616 does get a little less reception then my T68m, but it requires less key strokes to turn BT on and off. There is quick access from the main screen. And you should be turning it off and on, because it munches battery power. Depends what you want the BT for. I use it for connection to a PDA and a headset. Doesn't work all that well with the headset, as it won't recognize the HB-30, only recognizes it as a headset. Disconnects after every call. T68m doesn't.

Not many BT phones out there that you can get from T Mobile (or Cingular or ATT), and they all have low RF. Quite frankly, almost all the phones with lots of features nowadays have low RF. If you want BT, got deal with the low RF, and nothing good is coming out soon.

Just in features the T610 wins hands down. I've been doing some research on it as I'm looking for some better features on my T68i (which is a great phone by the way). Looks like the T610 has them.

I can not comment on the reception of the T610. The T68i is marginal where I'm at.

I bought a T610 after I tried the t68. I liked the T68 but I love the T610. On the T-Mobile network, the 610 works better than the 616 because the freqs match up. Not nearly as good as my last CDMA phone but that is the network...not the phone. The camera image quality is a bit weak (http://johnsworld.textamerica.com)...but I didn't buy the phone for that.

Overall I'm very happy.

PS. I was wrong about the reception with T616. I was at a spot sat night that usually have little to no service, and got pretty good signal with T616.

i would have to say stick with t-mobile for best reception. i have been with them for 4 years and have never had problems. as for a bt phone, if you can get your hands on a t68i, do it. never had problems with bt on my t68i. i would recommend you get a factory new t610, not from t-mobile/att/cingular because they remove some menus from the phone and other features like gprs indicator. not to mention they kill the phone with predifined items (sounds, pictures, etc.). so buy a t610 from S.E. if you have the cash. if not, get a t68i from t-mobile as they didn't change the internal software for it.

I now have both a t68 and a t610. Both get similar service. THe 610 is by far a better product. I'm putting the t68 on ebay very soon. The only thing I like better about the 68 is that when I put it to my ear, I know where it should go. With the 610, I usually have to move the earpiece around a bit to actually hear the call.

Is there any way to get the firmware updated here in the states?

Is that how I can remove the predifined items? Any other way?

i wouldn't recommend a t610 and defenitely not a t68i. t39 and r520 are both much better. but nokia 3650 has the best reception i've ever had on a phone.
