What is the best option for US T-MOB coverage? I was going to get a T68i then I saw that the T610 had more features and was cheaper (after rebates). I do some research and I hear that the reception often renders the T610 useless as a phone.

What is the best option for a small bluetooth phone with good reception?

(I also posted this in the Americas forum but there seems to be no one awake in there.)

you can't get a better phone with bt other than the p800. but that's a different kinda phone all together. when it comes down to size and features, the t61x series rules. sure, the reception isn't as good as phones with external atennas. but do you want a small feature-rich phone that you can put in your pocket, or do you want a phone with a big-ass atenna that you need to clip to your belt?

get the t610-you won't be disappointed.

How about Ericsson 520R? It i quite old, though, but all the successors were built on its sturdy platform. Yes, it's ugly, but very functional and it does have an external antenna. Alternately, try T39 (could be a bit more expensive, though).

I havent tried t610 but, if i already didnt have my t39 i would buy it! If you can buy a t39, DO IT:) it have some minor faults(nothing serious im just touchy). T39 is a excelent phone, and t610 should be better (might be alot better but havent tried it yet) This message was posted from a T39

If you live in america shouldn't you try get a T616 instead of a T610
since T616 RF is more adopted for american gsm bands other then that
they are exactly the same.

My T610 has better reception then my T68i (in sweden)

I had heard that. But T-Mobile doesn't sell the 616. Only the 610...after rebates, it is less than $80 US. Do you think they'd sell a phone that doesn't work well on their network?

This is why I am concerned about the reception. Neither the 610 or 68 use the elusive 850MHz network. And after seeing the nice size of those two, I can't see carrying that nokia brick around.

T-Mo doesn't use 850 so you don't really need it unless you want to switch to ATT later and it isn't in all places anyway.

Another point of concern is that I spoke with a sales guy at the local TMOB store...he said to stay away from the 610 as the reception is terrible. I know never to believe a sales guy...but would he have anything to gain by steering me away from a 610?
