I bought my p800 on ebay from a good seller and it was brand new still sealed.I had several e-mail to the seller and he said that all his phones come with 1yrs warranty from the manufacturer and that in the event of a problem just return to a phone shop and they will enter a 6 digit code and can tell when the phone was used for warranty purposes.I contacted SE and you have to send the phone away as no regional service centres are nearby with proof of purchase has ayone heard of this as there must be lots of people who have problems with repairs.

one of the ways they check is the week of build. If this is outside of 12 months then the unit is definately not under warranty, but I do't think there are any p800s out of warranty yet - this will start in about October.

Generally as long as the unit doesn't look dodgy and the build is less than, say 11 months ago, there shouldn't be a problem.

I took mine in to have a firmware update yesterday on my p800 and brand new t68i and whilst they logged the details including my address, they didn't need proof of purchase.

If only someone had told me how good R2F was sooner.. i appear to have reasonable battery life now !

What's reasonable now (and what did you have)? Playing games, SMS'ing and GPRS for a couple of hours a day, and I'll be lucky if my P800 last 48hrs...

Funny thing when i talked to SE on the phone, they asked only when i bought the phone and where, thats all I never had to send in proof of purchase they stated "yes we know you have a p800, there is no need for that" How do they know??? does the 1800 number check to see what phone you are calling from??? hmmmm i wonder...
