Ok, so I was a flash Harry by managing to synch my contacts from my sim card to outlook...
BUT, when I went to back my phone up I had severe problems.
I attached it to the cradle and began the download. It started off fine. BUT, just as it neared the end a message came up saying that the phone was not attached correctly and to check the connection. So I tried again and the same message came up. I checked the connection and it was fine (the fact that it had begun to back-up proves that). I tried again and again and again. It was only on the 10/11th attempt that it finally backed up.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I am from delhi , it far away .
i was not successful in 10th attempt also ...!
not even in winME nor Xp .
May be this prob is due to that , that i am once removed "My Sim "from Phone monitor options in these days and installed it again .
I think i have to reinstall my operating sys .
I wonder if its a phone prob or a comp prob ??
anyone can tell this ?

I am experiencing exactly the same problem on one of my computers. SE support specialist is getting back to me....he couldn't figure it out either.
On my other computer, I can't even get a connection anymore, although it worked fine for 6 months.....
It ALWAYS happens 1/3 into the "analyzing" process..and quits with a "Make sure your phone is connected" error..no other explanation.

Joolsca, can you please let us know what the SE Specialist says about this.
I have a feeling all he/she will say is "make sure your connection to the computer/phone is not loose"!!!
Erm, duh, that is the first thing, im sure, we all checked, right?
I have a sneaky feeling that the problem may be that, in the past, we may not have put the phone into the cradle with too much care, and, amybe, we have slightly damaged the contacts inside the phone link.

Absolutely, I'll let you know.
He is sending the info off to SE Sweden (where the software guys are)...he asked for a screen shot of the error (we) I get when it stops synching....the same one we are all getting.
I asked if it might not be the cable...but he said no...i'm not convinced...this is happening after working just fine for months.
Still doesn't solve the mystery of PC Suite not connecting AT ALL on my other computer...a problem other long time users are also beginning to experience.
We went through EVERY SINGLE trouble shooting option ( he is a "Specialist") and he was completely STUMPED.
We NEED an update to PC Suite to fix the problems....

OK, I'm the idiot here....my backup problem on THIS computer was easily solved by checking to make sure I had updated PC Suite to 1.5.1
I had never checked it because the REAL trouble I was having was my MAIN computer which IS updated to 1.5.1 was not connecting to my P800 at all anymore and I went to this one in desperation...I was so happy that it actually connected to the P800 that I forgot that I had not updated to 1.5.1 since my upgrade of firmware to R2D (I don't usually use this computer for my P800..only my T610).
SOOOO, if it quits at exactly the point "analyzing..." make sure you are running PC Suite 1.5.1
Hope that helps someone else...as for the frustrating problem of not being able to connect to my MAIN computer at all anymore after 6 months of working just fine: No explanation.
SE support is looking into the XP updates....which I suspect may be the culprits...

Another question:
Can you back up using IR or BT? The back-up and restore program is disabled whenever I use the above profiles. Tried it using three computers already.
