hiya there people
i recently got a replacement £500 voucher for my p800 i lost a while ago. however, knowing the weakness of P800 and the sucking batterl life, the terrible speaker (esp located at the back), the low screen color resolution, expensive memory stick duo compared to MMC and SD cards, great phone, no doubt...terrible java implementation compared to nokias...i had a P800 one month before it came out in the UK.
putting all these into consideration, i was thinking of either waiting to get the 'soon to be released'(maybe 4 months) p810, or the siemens SX1. but by all indication, the SX1 has been delayed till december. i know pple will be biarsed towards the P800, ive had this phone longer than most, so what u guys think i should do?
no rude replies pls:xx ....just looking for an ESATORISED opinion...

I've had my P800 since late January, i.e. before it was out in most places. I think it's safe to say that, despite its drawbacks (all of which you mentioned and all of which are valid), it still remains unbeatable in the global mobile phone market. It's been out a long time but still continues to amaze everyone, including its owners

I say stick with the P800. From a purely technological point of view, nobody makes phones like Sony Ericsson do. I have a P800 and a T610 among other things but they are both great. Like any other phones, they have their limitations and drawbacks but I think they're the best of what's out there.

Just my opinion - I hope it's esatorized enough

If your voucher remains vaslid for a long spell of time... and you're quite sure you'd prefer the risk of a new phone (with all it's possible bugs and other drawbacks) I would hold out for the P900 if I were you.

Once again you'll be 1 of the first to have one...
You might see some improvements on the points you already mentioned

dunno if this was an 'Esatorised' answer but I am quite sure it wasn't rude

Good luck

When in a call, the front speaker is opperative, the back speaker needs to be on the back to avoid ear damage when very loud polyphonic noise is emitted, it also throws the sound around & reflects off walls & hard objects, its a design feature not a fault.
If you haave no time limmit on your voucher, why not get a P810, as you are now well used to the interface.

Hmmm. I certainly wouldn't waste a 500 pound voucher on a new P800 when you can buy them second hand for 200-250, or less. One went here on Esato for 160 or 170 recently I recall.

Buy a second hand one to tide you over until one of your new choices or something else becomes available.

Where can you use these vouchers?
