> P800 Backup and Restore Problems
Bookmark topic
Hi there it's ASN,
I had problems with my battery which only lasted a few hours, so those loverly (huphmm) people at Orange send me a new handset. Before it arrived I backed up the internal memory of my phone.
To test that this worked, I deleted a few things and then restored the phone, it was a waste of half an hour but it all worked fine. When I handed in my faulty Orange handset they gave me a new one.
I put my 128MB duo in and all was fine. I then tried the restore. ALl went well until about 5 minutes before it was due to be completed, whilst transfering the "Stunt Run" game, the internal memory ran out of space.
I cancelled the restore and I was left with most of my details from the faulty P800, like some applications, calendar and Jotter notes, and pictures. Howwever one thing missing were my contacts.
I don't know how this was, since I thought all P800s had the same amount of internal memory.
I plead to you, oh so helpfulmembers of the Esato forum, if you can tell me how to overcome this problem, or if there is a way of editing the backup file on the PC so I can delete the replaceable stuff like the games with the "hard to replace" stuff like my contacts.
Thank You all very much,
ASN

Hmmm, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem I'm confident lies with you cancelling the restore! Who knows what problems you've caused.
