Hi all,

I've been reading closely on the 3 new SE phones. Now I'm sure many of you are long time E/// or SE fan and have been looking at their newly announced phone. I've decided not to get the T610 when it came out partially because it's not a big leap ahead compare to when T68i came out back in the day (I've owned T68m since R1B and then a T68i till R7A). Now Z600 looks like a promosing phone with a taste of Japanese clamshell design which is something new from SE.

Now estimated price on it will be USD$450 which is pretty pricey compare to T610 which have very similar features. How will T610 price change when Z600 is available?

I wonder if the Z600 TFD screen is swappable to the T610.

Interesting, SE still have yet to reveal P900/T6x0. I guess I will sit tight and wait to see the big picture then decide which phone I should get.

Well the t610 is available free on most contracts over here so not much can change price wise! I think the SE Z600 is much better than the t610 which put me off through its crap scren. I prefer clam shells and therefore I am loving the fact they are releasing this! Will definatly get this phone after the first price drop. I realllllyyyy do doubt that you'll be able to swap the screens over.

gemini:

It's definitely fresh that SE releases clamshell design phones. Yes Samsung and Motorola have this design for years but which one of them can compare to SE feature-wise?

Not that this adds anything but I've personally swapped T300 LCD on a T68i without a hitch.

Yea I know it only has 2Mb but it's really just a phone. I got an iPaq with 256Mb SD card and THAT can store sh!t load of stuff.

@gemini, the 610 put you off because of its 'crap screen' ?

You have got to be joking right?!?!

I know it is really annoying when you just get the latest phone out and then a week later, something better comes out, but if you keep saying "i'll wait and see..." or "i'll wait for the Nokia xxxx or the SE xxxx to come out", by the time the phone you are waiting for comes out, there will be stories of a better one, so you'll wat for that and then a better one will be out soon......... etc

Just take the plunge and get a T610, wicked phone and if the SE flip phone is better (which i can't see it can be much better) then s**t happens.

well could be a smart move to check out the Z600 first.. the tfd screen could be worth it..and you say you like clam shells also..

but wait until new products are coming can be a waste of time.. in ocotber hopefully the t610 follower t620 will be presented and next year rumours new crazy models will come.. also 1,3 mega pixel cameras

so.. this can be a long wait for you

well it has! how many things you hear about i cant read it in sunlight blah blah and then the hissing thing!? I just though f**k it and got a nokia 6100 instead BUT will be getting that LG phone or the Z600 when it comes out. I also find the t610 quite ugly as well, nothin major in the design of it, bland and boring.

One disadvantage in the Z600 is that the TFT screen drain to much battery. It only has about 200 in stanbytime.
The T610 has 310 in standbye time but if you use it allot, take pictures and stuff the battery is out in two-three days.
