If your phone supports it, you could send a contact as a vcard embedded in an EMS message. That message howeve will not be shown in the sent folder and you will receive no delivery report. This message was posted from a WAP device

Then vcard is the way to go for you. Select a contact from phonebook, press the option key, select send then via sms. Please be aware that ALL contact details for that particular contact will be sent. If the recipient's phone is not vcard compatible, the message will be considered a regular sms. As far as I know, it can't be done. Maybe this is a feature that should be included, cut and paste !!! Sending contact via SMS will send the whole lot of info as you already know, and sometimes, we don't really want to do that, right ?

Here is your answer:

Cut, copy and paste can be used when you enter/edit a contact to move around phone-numbers:
Cut a number:
press and hold * while pressing 1
Copy a number:
press and hold * while pressing 2
Paste a number:
press and hold * while pressing 3
