A few days ago i read a topic from a guy that got an email from orange saying SE chargers were faulty and could explode. At 1st I didnt beleive it but this mornin i got a text saying "From Vodafone: There is a potential safety issue with your Sony Ericsson charger. PLEASE DO NOT USE and call 08705****** to arrange an exchange. Thank you". Is this message genuine, did anyone else get it? I dont wanna put anyone off buying SE phones but this could really damage their reputation (if true). Im pretty sure the phone number given is the SE service center (celestica). However Ive already had the charger die on me and have got a free replacement from voda that was the retail and packaged version of the charger. However I have 2 T610s! and Im not sure which is which.

I reckon it is true, because I just got the same text message from Vodafone - and they are the only people that would know that I have an SE T610 phone! I am gonna have to say 'well done' to Vodafone on this occassion - it is not often that you get notified of a product recall so quickly; usually companies rely on the fact you will spot a small print ad in the newspapers!

It would tell you ppl that it is in fact true... Standard British 3 pin chargers manufactured by DELTA in Thailand are faulty.... they have a risk of shorting and exposing the wires.
If you have a charger manufactured by DELTA in Thailand I suggest you take it back to the retailer.
Also may I suggest we keep all info limited to one thread (the other thread) sop that all ppl can benefit without having to weed thru numerous threads??? That would be really helpfull. Thank you.

I have the same message on my T68i. The phone line is busy of course. The HBH-30 headset I have also has an identical supply, so I guess that will be affected too. I think I'll carry on using mine till I get the replacement - it has survived a year so far.

Yep soz keep it to the other thread then, it was just it was getting a bit long. Ive tried to ring them and the line is too busy. It is an official problem as when you ring SE you have to press 1 for the charger recall.

What about chargers for the T610 issued by O2 are they affected?
