Just went to carphone warehouse to have my p800 upgraded they said orange wont allow them to do it, as it stops the phone working, and that they dont have the software. Naturally i was a bit annoyed, so i rang orange who said that this is not true. what is going on??? can i have the latest firmware on an orange p800???

i havent seen any posts with people saying that the CPW couldn't upgrade the firmware. did you get the phone with CPW? try a different branch and i bet you they will give you a different answer, mabey the one you are looking for. have a search under Firmware as see if you can find CPW as i know this was discussed a while ago.

thats normaly the case. it takes a while to upgrade the firmware and they probably didnt want the hassle, probably out on the town last night and wanted a handy day. try another branch if you can or ring them next week, you might get a different person who is more helpful. wait and see if anyone with on Orange p800 has had an upgrade with CPW replies to your post. what version of firmware do you have. i am running with R2D and am happy with it. only about 6 TOD's since i got it three months ago.

CPW are full of shit. There are other people out there to do the upgrade no problem

Call the SE service centre and they will tell you the address etc of the local service centre. UK number is 08705 237237.
