> P800 - E-mail not checking on schedule
Bookmark topic
Hi,
e-mail program is set to check on 15 minute intervals. Sometimes it works, other times it can go on for hours without checking. If I do a force check then it will download the e-mails without problem (not a network issue.)
The next issue I thought it might be, is that I did not have the "message" app open when the phone starts. Tested it with running and not running, and it didn't seem to make a difference.
Lastly I tried shutting down Handyday 3.1 (purchased) and that didn't matter either.
I have R1D Firmware, I live in Canada and I cannot get it updated unless I send it to SE by mail (three weeks to return). So, I hope it's not a firmware issue.
Any suggestions?

This may not be the answer that you are looking for my friend, but why not have your e-mail account setup to send you a free sms alert everytime you recieve an incoming e-mail then you can just download them as normal. i know this may not be the ideal solution to your existing problem but at least you would be notified each time you are e-mailed. Orange uk currently offer this service free of charge as long as you have an Orange.net account, i would imagine internet providers in Canada can also offer you this service.

I could use that as a last resort. But I didn't buy a $1000 CND phone to have features like this not work
I really need it for business use, and need the e-mail there and downloaded when it comes in. I start using SMS then it just adds another hassle to the mix.
