Just wondering of anybody has had a chance to compare the motorola A920 and the Sony Ericsson P800. As the Moto is the new kid on the block and is running the same Symbian O.S. I was wondering if there was any improvements over the P800 especially as it uses the new 3G network.

So come on guy's which is the better of the two ???
Ive been thinking of getting one because they say that it is the most advanced phone you'll come across this year. The A920 is a tri-band phone with integrated GPS, camera, audio/video player, video calling and full messaging support.

Java support is also included, as well as applications to playback and stream audio and video.

The A920 uses a stylus so that users will be able to use Motorola's proprietary QuickPrint handwriting recognition software. Their iTap software can also be used for typing messages
But the main reason I fancy getting one is because they are available free on contract

Here is a good summary and some pictures

I think that as 3 seems to limit access to the internet and the loading of 3rd party apps the A920 is not really as useful as the P800. What a shame. Shame on you 3!

I think 3G is a LONG way off yet before it appeals to the masses.

The majority of it's features only applies if it's 3G to 3G phone. And I'm sure those people who have rushed out to buy a phone where they can see who they are calling are a little miffed when the majority of their callers can't offer the same facility.

It's all down to business. Shortly, the more common networks will offer much much cheaper GPRS tariffs, allowing software vendors to tinker with phones, and major software manufacturers like Real etc to have some kind of streaming media over a normal network which is cheap and needed as be.

Heh... for a lot of ppl the lack of BT is not the end of the world tho. The software issue imho is a killer tho! 3 is not developped to a status where they can put up limitations like that and not push away customers. Not a smart move in my opinion.

The other reasons apart from being free of course that I wanted one was the download speeds and the GPS now that sounds really exciting
