> synchronising a t610 with Outlook

ok, just got a t610 to replace my p800, but maybe I am being simple, but even having loaded the XTNDconnect software, I have no idea, how to synchronise my new phone with outlook- I have tried my pc's bluetooth connection, but then xtnd won't recognise the connection.
Help...

hmmm...sorry I cant help you with your BT connection. But I'm using IR and there's no problem. After installing the XTNDconnect, you will see a mobile phone icon in the taskbar. Now when then pc detects your T610, just right click on it then choose syncronize...afterwards, you will have to fill up some info about your sim name and etc. (this is just for outlook to recognize your mobile phone) That's is. By the way, only Outlook works. Not Outlook express.

re The Bluetooth- my PC recognises the phone, and a link is made, it's just the XTND doesn't "see" the connection, and won't synchronise.

XTNDConnect doesn't "see" the connection because MPM (Mobile Phone Monitor - found in control panel) doesn't see the connection. Make sure that the correct ports are activated in MPM and that you open a serial connection over BT before you try to sync

(using my Belkin BT adaptor) I have made a connection with my 610 via Bluetooth serial port - COM3. I have then gone into Control panel/phone monitor options/com ports and enabled COM 3 , but when I try XTND I still get error message " unable to detect phone, verify that the phone is connected to the pc"

Sometimes when that happens (assuming everything is set up correctly) it helps to restart the phone (and maybe the PC as well). Once in a while, XTNDConnect and MPM have problems holding an open connection to the phone. I looked at the BT monitor, and I could see serial connection beeing open, holding 2-3 seconds and then dropping just to re-open for 2-3 seconds again untill XTNDConnect timed out ... (MPM never got a chance to detect the phone). Turning the phone OFF and then ON again, solves this particular issue. In some rare cases I had to stop/start the BT dongle as well.

I don't think it's a problem with my BT dongle, because when I opened a serial connection manually, it was established and mantained without problems until I shut it down.
This is what happens when I start sync:
1. XTNDConnect opens a serial connection over BT
2. The connection is open for aprox 1-2 secons
3. Connection is dropped
4. In about 5-10 seconds the serial connection is opened again
5. MPM detects the phone
6. Syncronization starts
Now, for some reason, if the serial connection is open before sync starts, XTNDConnect will close it prior to step 1
When the problem I mentioned above happens, XTNDConnect seems to go in a loop. After step 3 it goes back to step 1, and keeps doing that until it times out. A restart of the phone fixes that 90% of the time. A restart of phone and PC fixes that 100% of the time.

Try this:
1. Restart the PC
2. Turn off the phone
3. Turn on bluetooth on PC
4. Turn on the phone, activate bluetooth
5. Make sure COM3 is still enabled in MPM
6. Open the serial BT connection to your phone manually
7. Run the synchronization
..The first time you run sync, it might time out while MPM is running New Phone/New SIM wizard...

Contacts are fine but the calender does not fully sychronise.
Does it only synch to the phone for the next calendar month?
It might simply be chance that the last thing to sych was on the 3rd of June.
