Hello there,
I am the owner of a very nice brand new T610 apart from the fact that it has the horrible Vodafone firmware. I heard that all over Europe, people are taking their phones to SonyEricsson service centres to have their T610s reflashed to the original firmware.
However, here in Greece the central SE service centre refuses to do this, offering instead the latest Vodafone firmware, saying "they'll lose their jobs". A phonecall to SE customer service in Greece confirms this, they say it is not allowed. I tell them that in the rest of Europe this is performed, they say they do not care.
Would you have any info that could help me? Is there a way to flash the phone myself (cheaply)?
Many thanks,
Jimmy

I'd recommend a read of the
Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style) and in particular the questions "Is it possible to get rid of those ugly Voda Icons?".

Thanks masseur, thanks to some nail polish remover and an ink eraser my T610 is now externally voda free. However
the SE service centers in Greece refuse to upgrade to SE firmware when they see a voda menu. I guess I'll just take it to my neighbourhood mobile shop for flashing.
