Sorry if this is already a heavily discussed topic, I had a search but could not find much.

Basically have a guy at my office who wants to buy something that attachs to his t68i that means he can have 2 sims running at once.

When I say he wants to buy, he wants me to buy as I am the poor sod who has to buy all the mobiles.
He has not been able to give me any info on what it actually is as yet but I am sceptical about the concept.

Bit more history, one is a roaming US T-Mobile sim and the other is a vodafone (uk). The phone is unlocked so can independantly use these two sims on it, but an realistically get my hands on another handset if that would be the way to go to enable this functionality.

Spoke with my vodafone account manager and he tells me that they used to stock something that did this but stopped as it was a bit flaky.

Does anyone know of any accessory that would allow this?

Hope that this makes sense.

Cheers
Donis

Check out eBay. They have loads of things like that for every phone. Sometimes it may take a few months for a company to make a dual sim holder for a new model. The phone companies do not make them themselves cause they do not wanna get in quick from the networks. As you know the networks would prefer you to use their firm and only their firm. Hope this can be of some help This message was posted from a T610

This was my experience getting one from ebay. Not very succesful.

The Ghost one I mentioned available in UK for T68i is a battery replacement type but I have still seen nothing for the T610 that looks like it will work either in UK, germany or back home in Sydney.

I have one of those for my T68i. I got mine from eBay through a mail order merchant in Singapore. Search with the term "dual sim T68i". There's not a lot of dual SIM options for T68 series. Only the ultra-thin/ghost dual SIM holder would work. There's no dual SIM battery option that's more common for other phones.

The fit is v tight and will lift one or both sides of the battery but it "fits". To switch b/n the SIMs you'll need to switch the phone off and back on. It's true that it's not 100% reliable as sometimes the phone will freeze during the shutdown. If you experiment a little, you'll get to know what the dual holder doesn't like. It's related to the positioning in the battery bay, the timing of switching on and off.

For me, the limitations are very acceptable for the advantage of being able to switch b/n carriers without manually changing the SIM card. Also, I don't have to concern myself with how and where I stored the other SIM. I think I paid around the equivalent of US$14 for it, incl P&H.
