I recently brought a 128 Memory stick from www.mobilefun.co.uk, (Hurry as they only have a few left), and my phone does not recognize it.

If I look though File Managerd:fileMemory info, it only sees 16mb, but if I look though Explorer on the computer I can see the new memory stick.

Before I get a load of abuse telling me to search for old threads, I have and not found much. May be I am searching wrong.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

well I dont now but only guessing!

I am aware that there is a hidden file on the memory sticks called memstick.ini when this file is deleted it does cause a problem with the White magic gate stick and the Pink(not purple!) Aibo sticks. Maybe you need to format it! and try again. or maybe you copied the purple memstick file accoss from the 16mb to the white 128mb???

I also think you did not use a proper sony memory stick reader, would this be right, cause with the Aibo Pink sticks they say only use a sony reader and never format the stick cause you loose the memstick file, but with a sony it protects it or something.

But remember I dont really know just trying to help!

yeah.. using the forat disk utility on the p800 should set up the folders and the hidden file.
whereas a format from a pc would erase everything...

if the folders were just copied accross form the 16meg to the 128 maybe it is the hidden file thats causing it not to work.

try formating the 128meg card using the p800, and copy the files accross again:)

People,

Thanks for your help.
I tried formatting, no good.

Took it back to service centre and they upgraded the firmware, then it worked. I asked these guys what was the problem and not one of them could tell me or give me an half detailed answer.

Take it back home and try to connect to BTooth on PC get error msg,"The Bluetooth Serial Port connection failed: The connection could not be completed." I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the software but no good and I have rebooted on a few occasions. I have also checked for clear comm ports all looks fine but still getting this error msg. Slowly starting to get pissed off with this phone.....

do a search about your Bluetooth problem, i did a short guide a while ago, when no one helped me about it i worked it out for myself.... anyway its somewhere on here.

Also I found it amusing that you can't (or couldn't) get your 128mb card working yet you said "Get them while you can, only a few left" or words to that affect.
