We need a thread to conslidate this topic as searches for "internet" are too prolific:

What kewl ways are there to use your P800's internet capabilities?

To start off with some ideas:

Worldmate (and I'm sure some other proggies) does a great jb of downloading 4-day weather info for cities across the world in a VERY small block of GPRS cost.
Worldmate, and a few other convetors, also do a great job of downloading instant currency data to give you a valid exchange calculator
I am sure that the VNC apps available are pretty kewl for IT admins to check that servers are running and to conduct simple tasks
Does anyone know of good news sites that will work via WAP to give us avantgo-type functionality?
What about kewl WAP portals with free ringtones etc? In fact, let's include any good bookmarks that are suitable for P800 browsing (please distinguish between Opera and Internet application suitability with 'O:' and 'I:')

Let's avoid sites/apps that could rack up HUGE GPRS bills.

Has anyone else battled with http://www.sonyericsson.com/fun (built-in bookmark that came with you P800)? I can see ringtones when I browse the site via my PC, I can register and I can play them. But to download you are told to go in via your P800. When you do, most of the pages give errors using the built-in internet application. What gives?

Here's my first hint of a successful hit:
http://twilightwap.com/mobile/p800/
Free site with some nice ringtones. Other sections not quite as promising.

CORRECTION: It's a snot site that downloads ringtone pop songs that start from the very first very drawn out start, and end when things start to pick up a bit. Waste of time!

Here's another kewl thing: Opera is not the only app to use your LAN - Wordmate also does so. By plugging in every couple of days and updating currencies and weather, U have weather for every major city with you all the time. I travel around the country a lot, so this is just too freakin kewl! Also, my currency is more volatile than pure ethanol, so free daily updates without having to navigate advert laden web pages is all good. PS: reading back on this post it's necessary to say that I have NO financial interests in the Worldmate development company - it's just some software I'm busy trying out.

I bought Worldmate 10 days after my P800 (3 or 4 months ago) - truly excellent software.

Java MSN MSN client is excellent too, awith again, low GPRS overheads.

The inbuilt email client is good (tho' disappointing without html support) and I use it an awful lot, tho' am I on the lookout for a decent replacement.

Opera's okay I suppose (certainly better than Internet), but it could be better...
