to do it properly you need to register with digimarc and use a digimarc filter for photoshop.

EDIT: that is supposing you mean digital copyright, or do you just want a subtle image/text added to a photo, which you can do using another layer with low opacity?

You can use a 'watermark' to distort the photo with writeing etc. by using the same named feature on Paint Shop Pro.

they are different species really thou-- the digital watermark (digimarc) technique encodes the author copyright data invisibly within the file as well, whereas adding a visible watermark layer is simply painting onto the image itself - depends on the users needs...

digimarc is supplied with photoshop, but you need to register with them (and pay for this) to encode your own authorship on their database. only really worth doing if being used for business purposes.
