> P800 Bluetooth Help Needed
Bookmark topic
Hi everybody,
I need a little help with bluetooth on my SE P800. It seems I can succesfully connect to other phones such as the new NEC phones on 3G network 3 ( I havent tried connecting to a pc or any other device ) , but the connection drops immediately after.
Can someone
please post some tips/tutorial on how to get this working properly, or alternatively mail me @
ben.harden@bt.com
Thanks on advance

Did you pair the phones and use a passcode? How do you mean the connection drops? You don't have a constant connection between the two when they're paired, bluetooth just uses the connection then stops.

I also had a problem with Blue Tooth,
The computer and the P800 do pair, but when ever I try to set up a Serial Connetion it tells me that the remote device (p800) has closed the connection.
I have been on to the guys that made it, Tecom, who told me that they are releasing a new driver version. Which I don't think the problem is......
Strange....

Can you tell wich bluetooth you've got? With mine (i don't remember the name) It worked only when I've download the updated drivers from the webpage.
Anyway if it helps just get to bluetooth options and don't leave it as 'auto' either 'showing'. Leave it as 'on'.

I can get the paired devices to connect briefly, both entering the same passcode, but the connection then drops only seconds after succesfuly connecting - similar to what happens to
JJayMobile
Where did you get the updated drivers from
axoia2?
Thanks again

My experience is as follows:
I could not get my Bluetooth connection to work hardly at all.
What I mean by that, is that sometimes my PC could find my p800 and sometimes not (but find and work with my Nokia), on the same settings (discoverable) while my p800 could find my pc consistently. I was pulling my eyebrows out.
I'm using a Blue Take BT007 Bluetooth dongle.
I'm please to say that my Bluetooth now works fairly consistently. My observations may help you, but they may be a little vague because some of the problems I had no longer occur and I'm relying on memory.
This is what I did:
Set up my SE phone connection link software to search for phones on all available ports excluding 1, 2 & 8.
I completely removed the previous installation of my Bluetooth software (released the beginning of this year).
I downloaded the latest software version (for my hardware from
http://www.bluetake.com/Drivers/BluetoothSoftware.htm, it's unlikely this software will work with your hardware, but you never know.)
This is Widdcom software. I could find it on the Widdcom site but eventually on Blue Take's site.
For blue beaming from the p800, the setting must be either auto, on or discoverable.
For blue beaming to the p800, the setting must be discoverable.
For the serial port to function the p800 must be set to discoverable (regardless of whether my p800 and desktop are paired.)
The desktop Bluetooth setting must be discoverable.
Blue beaming from my desktop is still inconsistent (it says that the required service is not available) When it does this, I first blue beam anything from my p800 to my desktop and then blue beaming works from desktop to p800 (why? I have no idea.)
The serial port when working does create a permanent connection between the desktop and the p800 and excludes the use of blue beaming (my guess is that the p800 only has only 2 available Bluetooth ports available - 1 for send and 1 for receive.)
When I connect the serial port, it mostly works 1st time.
Sometimes it says there is a problem (but the serial connection quite often works despite the message). If I click OK, on the 'problem' window the serial connection is sometimes broken and I get a message saying the p800 terminated the connection (so I don't click on the problem window). Sometimes the connection still works even if I click on the OK.
Sometimes I have to try to make the connection up to 3 times before it works.
The only 'certain way of knowing if I have a serial connection is by checking the 'My p800' file manger to see if I can see my files.
What I've noticed is that the port used for the serial connection changes. If my desktop Bluetooth software tries to use port 0, there are often problems (surprise, surprise, because the SE coms software doesn't have a port 0.)
Since installing my new Bluetooth software my USB UPS occasionally shows errors.
I've checked out these observations on 2 of my home pcs (different hardware configurations) and they are identical.
I wrote to SE, Blue Take and SE about my problems (over 1 month) and had no replies.
My Nokia phone (6310i) worked perfectly every time.
My conclusions are that there are:
Some general Bluetooth software - hardware compatibility issues.
Some specific compatibility issues with the p800 (I am surprised since Ericsson were involved in its development.)
Good luck!

mine is concpertonic (dislexic?) and you can get it here (remove the gaps):
h t t p : / / w w w . c o n c e p t r o n i c . n e t / s u p p o r t / f i l e _ l i s t 0 1 . a s p ? g = 9 & p = C B T U & t = d r
