i purchased this kit and had it installed from bmw. however the problem is that the kit is not detecting my phone. i am wondering whether there is a problem with the installation of the kit. or do i need a t68i ordered from bmw it self to make this thing work(at least this is what the dealer is suggesting)

please give me your comments as to wether my existing phone should work with this kit, my car is due into the dealer on this wednesday when they will check where to problem lies.

Please note that my phone starts charging when i put it into the holder.

thanks

Can't imagine you need to order a T68i from BMW. If that's the case you've been ripped off. Surely a car kit should take any T68i you place in it? Sounds to me like the kit has been wired in wrong. Get them to look it over and check it but don't pay any extra.

If the bmw kit is according to Bluetooth specs (1.0 or 1.1, i don't remember wihich one T68i supports) it should detect the phone if it's set to "discoverable". There's nothing wrong with the phone IMO.
