Hi Guys,

I am having big problems syncing with outlook since i got a new p800, so i was wondering if anyone knows of a way to completely remove ALL refence to my phone from the computer completly (both stored in outlook and in any other P800 software or registry) so that i can start afresh and try syncing from the begining.

I have not had any replies for my problem (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=37995&forum=35)
so think that a complete start would be best.

Any ideas?

Hiya,

I have a win 2k machine. I am running Outlook 2002 (XP).
It used to work fine with my old p800. When i got a replacement P800 it stopped working with my machine, even after i uninstalled and re-installed the p800 software.

You could use the backup and restore facility to restore your computer to a time before you had your first P800, that is if you still have that restore point.
As someone just said, failing that, there is always the 'ultimate' option.

go into your control panel (PC) and there is one for Add/Remove program.

you should be able to remove the SEMC DSS-20 SyncStation Driver.

then you can re install the software

1. im not sure how to do backup and restore on win2k.
2. Im sure its a wee bit dangerous to try doing that. I dont want to lose all emails, documents etc before that date.

Maybe there is another way of removing all info in outlook/registry/p800 software so it was as if i was installing a p800 for the first time?

It would be a real bugger, but you could also go through your entire system looking for refernces to it and manually deleting thhem. I wouldn't recommend it personally.
The backup\restore funcionality is fully reversible, so if you did roll it back to a previous adte and it didn't work you could undo the changes (I think).
