I am struggling with the SDK on Symbian.
I have downloaded 1) j2me_SDK 2) SDK r2.z05 3) SDK update rc1 4) API's (Streaming, Ecam and Vibration and 5) Emulator.
None of these I can get working. 1) needs Jave 1.3 before it will work 2) can't open a *.zo5 extention 3) opend and installed itself, 4) and 5) don't know how to install these.
Can someone give me step by step instruction on the above?
As you can see I am no techy, not even a programmer just someone with a passionate love for my SEP800. The king of all phones.

You do need Java 1.3 (or 1.4) which is a free download from sun.java.com.
As for having problems opening the file, sony "DID" have a problem whereby the omitted the ".ZIP" at the end of the filename!! Add it on by renaming the file, and try again.
You will need a decent IDE (Integrated Development Environment), again Sun has a good one called Sun One ME (Mobile Edition).
Installing is a straight forward double-click, although you really
must read the readme file!!!
If you are NOT a developer I really wouldn't recommend entering this arena yet. I've been a programmer for 17 years now, have experience in 8 languages, and programming the P800 is daunting! Worth it, but daunting! If you need any help, let me know.
