T9 is a waste of time anyway!

If we write a message to our pals asking if they're coming to the pub for a drink we say "CU L8R@Pub M80" We do this so our sentance's can be longer in one message.

Can T9 do that!!!?

nope

But, believe it or not some of us luddites still use the English language, even when sending SMS.

T9 will be a welcome addition to the P810/900 but I don't really miss it on my P800.

@jmh, when T9 was a new thing i used to get SO angry with people saying, "it cant do unusual words" BUT a T9 program can remember any series of letters that you insert into its dictionary, so in theory abreviations should work. if for example you are a scientist & you are using "ectoplasm" alot in your texts, then as long as its in the memory it will come up as an option, but not sure about the numbers & symbols.
Touch screen input is FAR quicker than T9 anyway so its past its sellby date if you ask me.

Possibly but if you want to text one handed it is gonna be quite a challenge doing it using the handwriting recognition!

i like the standard keybord, but on a bus jumping around its very hard to type, its also hard to walk. and when you just want to say "go to hell" its just better to pull up the phone and press on the flip or the software flip
