Maybe its a habit from my past Nokia phone, but i thought it was a good idea to have your message displayed on the screen once its sent out. Unlike in my T610 the screen defaults back to standby... I have to get the message out of Sent folder ( takes 5 more key presses ! )
incase i wish to do something more with it
I hope SE are doing something about their messaging interface which i believe is pain in the A**

The one thing I'd quite like to be able to do is use the joystick to choose my letters, similar to the way you could use the navi-roller on the Nokia 7110. That made texting sooo easy.

You can use the joy stick to change the words. Have have been doing it while writing this message. Are you sure you are using the t610?

With the 7110 you could select the *letters* with the roller, not just the words.
Nice thought - but I don't think it would be as easy with a joystick as with that roller

@ o44wen - yes I'm quite sure I've been using the T610. I don't use T9 though, just can't stand it.
@ mwright - yeah that's what I meant, I thought it was a very easy way to select letters by using the roller. Particularly if you were typing the same letter more than once in a row.

The T610 has the best T9 I've seen on any phone so far. Too bad it started acting up after only three months. :-(

I love it, although now I am much more cautious about adding words to the T9 dictionary. And I regularely go through 'my words' and delete those that I do not need.

I think that writing SMS messages with T9 input is easy and wordbook is also good. I must add only few words. But Nokias T9 wordbook is terrible to use. Finnish company but there were so many, many times when nokia dont have right finnish word in itīs wordbook and i must add them, intersting thing...

i liked being able to press the zero key on the t68 to scroll through alternatives. u could get pretty fast at t9 when you'd learned what would come up after x many key-presses. although the speed of t68 vs t610 just does not compare!!
