So, who the **** is sending me these ******* viruses all the ******* time?
I want to ****** know cos I'm ******* sick and tired of it!
Please xcuse my french but this is the fourth time since I became moderator in here. (Starting to wonder if it's worth it)!
And YES!!! I have anti virus on auto update, but there is a sneaky little bugger somewhere out there who has found a way around it, straight in to my, yet again, x PC.

Yeah, I guess that is an option.
My main point is basically the fact that some idiot somewhere finds this amusing. If I ever find out who he/she is there will be a BIG bill in their mail.

@tranquil
If this is such a problem, maybe you should look into investing in a firewall/NAT

Get a hardwere firewall and divert all ports to 0.0.0.0 so anyone else you is tying to ping you thinks that this ip is dead

Assuming that the little bugger is exploiting a security vulnerability in your XP, you should have all MS updates installed. I very much doubt the fact that he/she has come up with something new, so that vulnerability has most likely already been addressed. This message was posted from a WAP device

It's not necessarily some1 sending to your email coz they found it on esato. It could be listed in so many other places. (do a google search for your address and delete it wherever it shows up)

Also, as mentioned, install all MS updates.

I'll post a link to an online virus scan as well (hafta look it up 1st)

Oh yeah and do delete your email address from your profile, I did that too after a vast amount of dodgy emails, never got another one)

0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 indicates a default route in the routing table, not a good idea to "divert" all traffic there. And blocking all traffic (if that's what you are trying to get to) will leave the PC unable to communicate - might as well just pull out the network cable then, you'll get the same result.

If you want to block the ICMP PING request, simply close TCP port 7 and UDP port 7.

MS Updates are notorious for intruducing more bugs then they fix, but it's (usually) a good idea to install them anyway.

If you don't know much about firewall configuration, I'd recommend a software firewall rather then hardware. It is much easier to set up, and you can configure it as you go.

Symantec Internet Security is a firewall + antivirus package which is very capable and easy to use. If you have a perminent internet connection I would definetly recommend that.
