You don't use POP to send email

Who is your cell provider for GSM/GPRS? You need to tell your P800 to use their SMTP server...

My POP server is mail.mypersonalemailserver.com

and my SMTP is smtp.02.co.uk

Assuming you are trying to do this using GPRS then this sounds like the common problem of you trying to use your ISPs SMTP server (outgoing mail server) instead of the one provided by your phone company.

While you can using your ISPs POP3 server to receive mail, most ISPs do not allow outgoing email unless you are connected to them , which you are not if you are using GPRS, you are actually connected to your phone carriers service.

So... find out the SMTP server name for your phone carrier and put that in and you should be right.

If you are not using GPRS then give a bit more info about the setup please.

Who's your phone's service provider?

If it's Cingular then you can go through their picture messenging SMTP server. You have to put up with an advertisment for that service at the bottom of each e-mail though.
