> really need some help on T226

Hi all, just want to say hello to everyone here, How are guys doing here ? i am new, and i have some question about my new cell SONY ERICSSON T226. i just got it for free a couple of days before with 1 year contrast.
About the PICS AND TONES AND THEME, i have some questions hope people would like to help me out, i appreciate that
1. I want to buy a DATA CABLE which allows me connect my cell to my PC(USB), what mode i shoud buy? and How much is it?
2.What knids of software i should use to download the PICs and Tones from my PC to my CELL. fit with T226 IF possible ,please provide the Link,thanks a million.
3.If I get both the data cable and software, does it mean i can change my background pic and tones for FREE? is it easy to do that?
4. How can i change the PICs and Tones by using the software and cable for FREE, if you know, please tell me, i really really appreciate your help.
5. I am gonna Japan for vacation at the end of the year, so I want to UNLOCK my cell, do i need to get a cable? How can i do that? is it difficult?

just type in:SONY ERICSSON T226 in ebay. youi should get some hits (i think it uses the same datacable as t68/t300/t610. price? approx 5-10usd. you can also go to the official SE website for accessories.

absolutely! thats why were here, to share. comeback here to get pics/ringtones and stuff for free. and yes, it is easy.

it will probably be a better idea to go over this once you have all the materials on hand

ooooo, im not sure, but i think japan uses a different system for their communications. you are using GSM, i believe theirs is CDMA. they might have a GSM tower somewhere. other forum members might be of better help to you on this question. in other words, you cannot use your phone in japan, unless otherwise corrected. in response to the unlocking, you have to find out whether your phone is unlocked/or not. if you bought it from the net, unattached with a provider, its prolly unlocked. if it is locked. you will have to take it to a SE service center, or send it to
www.virtualdynamix.com to be unlocked.

Hi all, just a quick question that hopefully someone can answer. I made the mistake of buying a data cable for my t226 without software, thinking it would be easy to sort out by myself....well Its been a bigger pain than I would have liked. I have no problem download the software, but my computer won't reconize the the usb cable. I have downloaded driver from the sony website but my computer still won't reconize it. When I plug it in I get the new hardware wizard pop up (I am using xp) but it won't assign or find any drivers for the new usb device. So, obviously, without the cable being reconized, the programs I have won't communicate with my phone. Soooooo does anyone have any suggestions???
