i tried out pang for the P800 today and when i saw the controls i got really mad ! In order to play pang you need 3 keys...
1)fire
2)Left
3)Right
A nice control could be achieved with the jogdial but instead the programmers decided to fire with the jogdial which is okay and left and right controls in a virtual keypad on the screen which is stupid !! They could have easily assigned left and right also to the jogdial or maybe to the internet and camera button!!
I really cant see the difficulty on doing that!!
It would make the game easier to play...

Dear Microneo
You have made a very good point. I have been saying this for some time. I personally thik that the on screen buttons in games are awful when used in fast paced games.
Please note i am not trying to offend developers for there hard work and great performance. If i have offended you please let me know so i can make amends.
In closing i have a control system which would be great for p800.
Jog Dial up = Up
Jog Dial Down = Down
Jog Dial Back = Left
Jog Dial Forward = Right
Internet Button = A
Camera Button = B
This is a control system which i have recommended. In no way does it reflect the thoughts of other esato users or the creators of esato. I apologise if my idea is not up to your standards and i'm willing to remove it if it upsets you. Thank you for your time. Thank you Microneo for such a well constructed post and thankyou for letting me par take.

that sounded a touch patronising/condescending/sarcastic... anyways, the control method sounded pretty much the best way to do things...

vermania,
no worries. anyways, your suggested method sounds the most sensible. unless of course someone's secretly developing a hardware attachment to add a joypad or proper keyboard to the device.

Dear Grex
Have you thought about the logistics of such a pad?
think about it you will not be able to use it whilst on the move i.e. on public transport or walking a sharp bumb means the pad would disconnect from the p800. leading to obvious problems.
It would not be justifyble in my opinion. Sorry if i have offended or upset you with my post and thoughts. simply let me know and i will take appropriate action.

fair point. still. it would be useful for a semi-portable gaming machine. lets face it, whats the point of having emame when some games are simply un-controllable? still,i guess it's the fact that it's possible, not usable that matters..
