hi all

thanks for the replys in my other thread, ive got the phone now and i thouroughly like it. one problem though.
i cant get wap working

1. i went to sonyericsson and did the wap setup there (gprs) then once i had the settings i restarted the phone. when i try to connect i get 'gprs failed' then 'wrong access point name (apn)
2. i then cleared that and tried the o2 setup off o2.co.uk but got the same.

any one know how to get this working?

you may need to call o2 and make sure you have GPRS enabled.

i have an old payasugo Genie/ now o2 sim with free wap allowance but it doesnt connect via GPRS it uses the 915000 dial up number to connect.

Use the basic wap configurator to setup GSM wap in the meantime.

When you call O2 ask them to enable GPRS and MMS on your phone. GPRS should be activated within about an hour (sometimes you need to switch your phone off and then on again) and MMS will be enabled within 24 hours.

Regards,

Phil.

thanks for the info every one

ive managed to set up gsm on my phone (and it works) so it must be that mms and gprs is disable at the moment.

ill get me dad to phone up o2 2moro and get them to enable 'em

I think ul find it costs bout 50p/£1 a min to call O2!

Unless they have changed their support number recently?

I always found it better and cheaper to email them, this is how I activated my MMS/GPRS on my account. It did take about 3 days thou.

I think the email is mycare@o2.co.uk

If not u can find it on the help section of their website
