Does anyone know if you can pay by Visa Electron debit cards in the Sony Ericsson online shop?

It doesn't say if you can or not.

I have bought a few things from there but always use mastercard.

However I just took an order through to payment and it lists Mastercard, Switch and Visa as valid payment menthods.

So I guess the answer would be yes if you use your card as a visa card.

Erm.... Visa Elektron is not precisely the same as a regular Visa (credit or debit card) it is more of what Maestro is a compared to Mastercard.

And unless they specifically say they accept it.... I doubt that they do.

well I have Lloyds visa delta (also a debit card) rather than visa electron, and I also have a similar australian debit card, and at places that don't take delta the card can be used as a standard visa card.

I am assuming that visa electron will be the same since it also bears the name visa.

This was pretty much confirmed when I also looked up this page describing visa electron.

"Visa Electron is very easy to use. Whether you use it at an ATM or to make a purchase online or at an electronic merchant, Visa Electron works just like other Visa cards wherever Visa Electron cards are accepted."

Thanks guys, I made an order and it was accepted, I'll guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens when the money is taken from the account.
