Earlier this evening my flip seemed to lose it's spring - upon investigation, a small plastic part of the flip mechanism has split and the flip now sticks when i open and close it rather than springing into position.

within an hour my p800 was dead - was installing an application when all the internal applications disappeared - i can't access messages, the calendar, tasks, etc.

strangely i can still access apps installed on my memory card.

anyway, will i get the phone replaced under se warranty or will i have to go for a master reset ?

in a way i'd prefer the warranty option as i'll get the firmware upgraded (hopefully) ...

any ideas ?

sounds like the internal memory is corrupted in some way... if you want to get the warranty replacement feel free you are entitled by the sounds of things the piece from the keypad has fallen into the phone and is messing things up inside with the memory..

well done you get a new phone!!

thanks malcs,

here's hoping i get a new phone - it's been pretty reliable up until now and then it just falls apart in the space of an hour !

anyone know how long it takes se to do anything in these cases ? i would imagine i can look forward to being without my phone for a couple of weeks anyway ...

orange cover does seem like a good deal in retrospect ...

Get a copy of SMAN, it sounds to me like your problem is just the menu has gone, SMAN has menu fix option.

Alternatively restore a backup of your phone, you did take a backup?

hey sandy,

strangely the problem fixed itself about 3 hours later after i'd been switching it off and on constantly.

it wasn't a menu thing as even the built-in apps like messages, tasks, calendar, control panel had gone.

i'm still a bit worried that it might happen again.

will ask se about it if they ever respond to my e-mail.

anyone got the uk number for se customer care ?
