Think the problem might be in the data account you're using rather that the email account, coz this looks ok to me.
Check your data accounts (my own problem was I had to add a DNS number which I didn't know)
You may have to use an 'internet' data account...

My data A/C..

'intenet' data would be:
APN: internet
Note that it may or may not be supported by your operator, and different charges may apply (as opposed to wap/mms)

Add a DNS number first!! that worked on mine (also thru dial up wap)
(dunno where you would find that tho)

No need for DNS if the servers are set-up with IP address and not name...
[EDIT]
...and it doesn't solve this problem to set up DNS if you are using APN: wap, I've tested it...

Depends on ur provider. Got my email settings from the

site, set up with IP numbers not urls...... and STILL would not work without a DNS number in the data account.
I DO have a who different data account (which happens to be a dial up) for my email tho.... not the one I use to browse wap pages with.

You really should post the nature of the error message that you get: I imagine that it is "GPRS parameters not supported", am I right or am I right?!
This would be because the GPRS data account needs to have the APN entry set to 'internet', not 'cmwap'. You also need your service provider to enable the 'internet' APN in addition to your existing 'cmwap' APN. (It is unlikely that you will need a USERNAME/PASSWORD, but check with your provider.

$10 (virtual) say it's "Server not found" error message.

@poe
Check with your service provider. The "Internet" data account that many talk about in the forum is the account setting used by your provider to give you access to POP3 or IMAP4 mail. I am using Globe Telecom here in the Philippines. Just as an example, I have the following Data Accounts (check via Connectivity > Data comm. > Data accounts) in my phone: myGlobe MMS (the MMS profile for sending MMS), myGlobe GPRS (the profile used for WAP connectivity), and myGlobe Internet (the profile used for E-Mail).
The basic question is "Does your service provider allow you to access your POP or IMAP mail using your phone's e-mail client ?" You can only get the answer from them. If so, they should be able to give you the settings. If not, they you can't use your phone's e-mail client.
Hope this helps. Cheers !!!
