What is the used of update of firmware? and where could I get the update for that?

When your phone is in the standby screen,do the following,
press joystick to the right
then press star
then joystick to the left twice
then press star again
then joystick to the left again
then star
now go into 'Service info',then 'SW information'.
The screen now has a load of crap all over it

but the top line is your software version
