Has any of you played with ID tag editors ?

Whenever I transfer files to my MMC cards win2K says that the file system on the target device is not supporting long filenames bla, bla, bla and truncates them. 8 character long names aren't fun to deal with when trying to select a song on HPM 10

Recently I've been playing with a ID tag editor and saw that the editor has an option to change the filename. I've changed and saved it. The actual file is 8 char long on the Windows Explorer but HPM-10 is displaying the long file name that I've assigned to the song. The limit is 30 characters.

Are there any other secrets that should be usefull ?

I've never had any problem storing filenames with more than 8 characters with win2k. Do you use the enclosed reader? I dont. Perhaps thats why. This message was posted from a WAP device

i never had that 8.3 filename issue (all my MP3s have longer artist-title filenames) on w2k using the supplied read/ write parallel cable, maybe it is a format issue with the MMC card?

still i chucked the cable after a month of painfully slow transfers!
