Could someone please post detailed instructions on how to format a new MMC card? The card I received with my MP3 player was already formatted. The reason I'm asking for this is that I wish to buy a 64mb MMC card, but I notice that some people have had problems with them.

Thanks.

Er, thanks, but that's not really detailed. How do I format as FAT file system? I can't recall seeing a format utility when I installed the MMC card reader.

When you have your card reader installed you will see an extra drive under "My Computer". Just right click on it with your mouse and you will see the option "Format". Click this. Then you can store your file. Btw I never had to format any new MMC cards, I always could insert them and start to use 'em. Unless you have the SanDisk reader which came with the MP3 player, then you are in a world of s**t.

Good luck, hope it is detailed enough

Yes thanks. However, I DO have the reader that came with the MP3 player...

What do you recommend now?

I am using the reader that came with the MP3 player. I don't have any problems reading 64Mb MMC cards. Didn't even have to format it - I just plugged the card in and everything worked. However, by this time I had already upgraded the drivers for the card reader to version 3.0. You can download them from the SonyEricsson website.

I bought my 64Mb MMC card from www.dabs.com in case you're interested. Cost me around £40 and works great.

Got my 64MB MMC card from dabs.com yesterday and it worked fine first time, didn't even have to format it. And this was with the bog-standard card reader you get with the MP3 player.

Mmmmmmm 64mb......

Hi,

I'm having problems with my card I think. When inserted in to the drive it shows up as normal but when trying to access iot it say drive unreadeable you do not have access/maybe read only. The card works fine in the actual mp3 player but I cant get access to it throught the reader. Also it wont let me format it - any ideas?
