Universal Exports Posts: > 500

I know this has been brought up many times before (because I did a few searches) but non of the posts had anything really helpful in the way of trouble solutions. I've tried SEs converter, works in DOS, can't really handle it. I've also tried the converter from MIKESOFT and what it does is it creates an AMR file about the size of 1 kb that won't play. And finally I have tried a converter that (I think) orignally is from totonox.com but all that one does is it says please wait and keeps telling me that.
Please any suggestions, tips, other converters, anything.

(and for those who complain about how many of us use the valuable space of esato and don't search, but still are going to post here and tell me that AMR sounds like crap, please don't)

with the miksoft one...the wav file has to be a PCM 8.000khz, 16 bit mono file for the conversion to work...you can convert it using windows sound recorder. ta x

you can convert the music file to the required frecuency using Total Recorder (www.highcriteria.com) after that, using miksoft AMR converter, select WAVE/MP3 to AMR , then choose the file and target. before clicking on 'convert' choose the MR, higher means less compression, thus higher cuality and file size. I don't know any programs where to play the AMR file, but it can hear from a cell phone that can record sound.

I'm using Miksoft too, this time to convert amr files to wav. What I want to know, does anyone there know of any software that, besides converting amr to wav, also improves/enhances the bitrate? Used my SE k750i to record some concert audio and the sound is quite crappy.

I doubt it's possible to improve the quality of an existing audio file. Any conversion using any software will actually result in a further loss in quality. Do correct me if i'm wrong. This message was posted from a Nokia
