> Sony Ericsson has introduced the CSS-20
Bookmark topic
BOTH MOBILE network operators and handset manufacturers would love it if consumers – especially young people – never bothered with a landline.
Well, there are a number of tasks that you can't perform very well with a mobile phone clasped to your ear.
Hence Sony Ericsson has introduced the CSS-20 which solves a lot of the problems. Firstly it turns any of the latest Sony Ericsson handsets into a decent speakerphone and you really can wander around the room while you hold a conversation.
The speakerphone facility is also useful for conference calling and there's a mute button if you suddenly need a moment's privacy with a colleague.
It's also possible to plug a microphone into the unit. The CSS-20 requires power from the mains charger which comes with your handset as standard but that also means the handset recharges whilst it's sitting in the stand.
If you want to synchronise data held on your PC with the handset seated in the CSS-20 you need an optional extra data cable which costs £20-£30 depending on whether you want a serial or USB connexion.
Otherwise for around £38 (without tax), the CSS-20 is quite reasonably priced – particularly if you compare it to the other option – a Bluetooth headset which costs around £70.
Here's the full list of handsets the CS-20 will work with … P800, R310, R320, R520, T20, T200, T28/T28 World, T29, T300, T310, T39, T65, T68, and T68i. µ
