Hi Guys, when i receive a new sms, the visual and audio alerts don't work... you wouldn't know that you have a new message until you open your sms inbox... however, if i turn off my phone and on again, it's back to normal... any of you have experienced this? is it because i have around 500+ sms in my inbox plus 500+ in sent items? Thanks for your inputs...

Go to Control Panel> Messaging Acoounts>Alerts> and make sure you have the display notification message checked and the ringinging tone For SMS is not silent. Hope that helps

I've been having the same problem - SMS alerts (visual and audio) not working. This has been happening since I got my firmware upgraded to Phone: R2F Organiser: R2D02.

I've checked the Alert settings, and they all look OK. (Visual Alerts is ticked, and the tone is set to default).

Just thought I'd revive this topic. I'm having the same problem on a SE P910i.

In Control Panel >> Sounds and Alerts >> Messages , The "Display Notification message" is ticked, and my phone volume is on loudest, and vibration is activated.

When I receive a sms, the phone doesnt vibrate, show a notification message or make a sound.

Incoming calls are normal, i.e. the phone vibrates and plays a ringtone.

Anyone figured this out yet?

Iv had exactly the same problem and finally worked out its because the sms folder was too full...delete a lot of the messages or restore the phone from a previous date and it should be fine..in the p910i SE have built in a warning if the inbox becomes to full.
