It will almost certainly void your warranty.
What phone is it and where are you located. If the phone is less than 12 months old you should be entitled to a free upgrade if that is what you are trying to do.

answering the question to save u from searching, u need to go to a webbie like
www.sonyericssonserver.com, get a credit, get a T28 data cable, download their software and flash the phone.
