Do you really want to remove it from your PC or from your phone? If you want to remove it from your phone then just go to Control Panel> Device>StorageManager> Files> Select the File> and click delete. Hope this helps

Where are you seeing this read only status. I can't see the file properties of any folders on my phone at all.Are you still using the PC to uninstall it. Even if it is a folder if you use 'Filemanager' software (of P800) you could see all the folders and the click on the name of the folder and click 'Do' on the bottom and click delete. Sorry if I understood the problem wrongly.

I'm using the pc to browse my p800's files and it shows the file properties. I cannot delete from the pc and i cannot delete from file manager on the phone - it say's "read only".
I belive the issue is that the file is definatly read only and i need a way to uncheck this status. Is there any software or ways available, or has anybody else had read only folders on there p800??

Download the freeware file manager app.Install it on P800.Locate folder in fm.Click on appropriate folder icon (down left hand side) Now click edit--->attributes then uncheck read only. Now you SHOULD be able to delete the folder.

i thought i had it sorted for a sec but was mistaken!
Tried to change the file attributes in file manager but read only was already unchecked,
let this be a lesson to anyone who copies files over to their P800 with them marked as read only - it seems you won't be able to delete them off your phone!
oh well, i'll have to put up with 20 meg less

Clearly this is on your MSD. This will work:
- Backup
- open esc file with winzip
- remove offending file from esc
- format MSD
- Restore
You havn't locked (write protected) the MSD by mistake have you? Chck the switch
