Hi
A friend of mine has just got one of the new BMW 5 series with the Bluetooth phone preparation,
However, when he tries to search for devices with his Sony Ericsson P800 mobile phone it does not pick up the car,
When in the showroom the salesman managed to pick up the car using his Nokia 6110i yet my friend cannot seem to get his phone to pick up the car,
Does anyone have any ideas on this please?
Thanks

Hello,
Is there any reason for this? Isnt bluetooth supposed to be a universal protocol?
Thanks

Have a look at this extensive discussion on the subject (ignore the abusive bits). Key issue is lack of Profiles facility on the P800

Dont ignore the Insulting bits pay attention equally to the thread. And buy a T610 it has the Car profile.

Managed to get it working with a P800 with quite old firmware on it, but then it wouldnt work on another P800 with newer firmware on,
Works perfectly with a T68i anyway,
Thanks for your help

Nice how you guys used my thread as an example.
I have been talking with SE and BMW and from what they say it is very likely that they will have a softwear upgrade availabe soon.
