> T610 GPRS signal icon
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I got a new T610 with firmware ver. R1S but I noticed that the GPRS signal icon is missing. Is it something wrong with the phone or they actually removed it in the latest software. Also, under Connectivity (in Data Comm) I can select GSM or GPRS for SMS messages.
Needless to say that the GPRS connection works just fine, I just don't know if I have GPRS signal or not before connecting.
Thanks.

sounds like you might have a T-mobile phone? If so, they disabled the GPRS indicator on their firmware revision. I don't know why

Yes. That's a T-Mobile phone.

Data comm. -> Preferred Service: If it's set to "GSM Only" change it to "GPRS + GSM"

preferred service,
gprs and gsm.

I'm missing that option (preffered service). I have only "Data Accounts" under connectivity. My old phone used to have the option, but this one doesn't.

it`s simple. If u choose gsm + gprs, u get the globe (when surfing) ,and when u choose gsm ( u know that u choose that) u get..the globe>Guess what: it`s the same sign for the both of them! Cuz u know (or u should know) what u have chosen.

That's correct, I'm talking about the signal indicator, not the globe.

Yep, i think the software on the t610 from tmobile desabled that "triangle" on the phones. i was going nuts with it till i found this thread...well at least it seems all of us(tmobile phoners) dont have it...and i also dont have preferred service
