> Standard dialup ISP with T300
Bookmark topic
I have read many posts on here and loads of other forums, and never found a simple, clear method for my situation. Hopefully someone here will be able to give me some useful information.
I have a SE T300. I also have a Dell laptop. I would like to connect to the internet when I'm out and about on my laptop. I have an account with a standard dialup ISP, I want to use this so as not to incur any more charges on my phone bill, besides simply using airtime minutes (which I have plenty for nights & weekends).
As I understand, it is possible to do this. What method of connection to my computer would be optimal (USB cable, IrDA, Bluetooth, other)? My laptop does not have an IR port nor Bluetooth, but I would be willing to purchase the necessary accessories. Also, what software would be required? Is there just a simple driver that makes the phone function as a regular modem for the computer?
Thanks in advance.

I think you need to use IR to be able to use the modem in T310... you can buy a IR adapter (USB or Serial) and connect it to your computer (then you can send files from/to the phone as well)... drivers for the modem is found on

Firmware could be compared to BIOS on your PC or operating system. Today was the update day, but as I expected they didn't do it. They said they are online and the update process is from SE site and SE knows that a phone you update and to which firmware. Probably they would loose ties licence. So any authorised service centre wont do it. Maybe unauthorised would do it but I doubt on it as they maybe would like to be an authorised SE service centre. But I found an another way to have a calendar on t300. :-D

Sorry for that previms post, but I'm sometimes to fast for my phone :-D yes it will work for t300 too. Just download t300 modem driver and buy USB IR adapter. Them install the drivers and in your internet connection choose t300 ir modem. Sometimes I use it but the speed is only 9,6kbit. Better would be to activate GPRS via net with your mobile operator, but It's more bills to pay.
