Hi all,

Quick question for email etc what do you use Wap or Gprs? I know GPRS is expensive but providing that is quicker and you only pay for the information you receive maybe it is worthy....

Use wap for large files which would be expensive on gprs - eg pictures, big emails etc. gprs is best whem using small amounts of data eg normal text based wap pages! Gprs is not bad here in uk on Voda - i pay about £3.50 per megabyte on my contract. Ed This post was posted from a T68

Thanks

My problem is going to be that I am new to all this so I won“t be able to tell when is more convenient for me to use one or the other.
Anyway I guess that I will know what NOT to do after my first Bill

Also wap calls work out at 10p a minute here would work out expensive if ur on along time especially if ur just reading and not downloading much. In this case gprs would be cheaper as u can connect all day long and only pay fordata u download!quicker also This post was posted from a T68

I only use GPRS. My operator in Sweden is Comviq that as an introduction has free unlimited GPRS access until May 31. After that they say the price will be SEK 49 (EUR 5.40) / month incl 3 Mb data.

Price for ordinary wap access is SEK 2 / minute in daytime which to me also after May 31 seem not as good as GPRS.

Ur T68 keeps a count of ur gprs data amount so just keet a eye on it. It counts in bytes so divide by 1000 to get Kb and by 1000 again to get megabytes. Should be able to keep track then! Ed:-o This post was posted from a T68

In my country monthly charge amount 2.5 euro for no limit GPRS. One minute WAP costs 0.1 euro, so I use only GPRS. MacF. This post was posted from a T68
