You play laser tag, at least according to this Bollocks..excuse my french but, I went out the other morning to take my lil brothers to play Megazone, a variant of laser tag and saw the following..sorry so blurred, you know how the P800 is in poor light



Claptrap! I yelled, I used to run a place like this, and know for a fact their computer or equipment cannot damage your mobile phone, and your mobile is more likely to play havoc with their packs as they have sensitive electronics in them.
Anybody got a clue why they'd lie like this? I used to just ask people to turn off cellphones just in case, no need for lies like this, unless I am mistaken and their infra-red guns will blow up my P800? *g*In which case I should turn off my phone before I change channels on TV?

This could either be 2 things:

1) Misinformation, as previously discussed in the bluetooth/airplane thread.

2) Laziness. They're aware that people wont switch their phones off (as no-one does in petrol stations now) so they threaten the people with a sign, because they couldn't be bothered stressing it to the customers.

Either way, I'm yet to see a laser have a detrimental effect on a mobile phone (unless we're talking about seriously powerful ones - but then I think it would be called "laser death" instead of "laser tag"). I could point my class 2 at my phone for hours and it wouldn't do a thing. And as for their computer damaging phones????!!?!!
Does it give off radiation like a brick of plutonium?!

purley scare tactics to get the typical nokia owner to turn their mobile off.

furthermore my laser tag place claims you cannot run if your seen runnig we will turn off your pack as this is a gam eplayed at walking pace. bull shit!

Any way laser tag with p800 would be cool we have the equipment (laser attachment) we need a body reciever then were set. Sweet heart make this for us please.

if ur IR port isnt on
it wont receive jack
so those deadly blasts wont affect it
and even if it does receive those deadly blasts the P800 will be all like "ok, so I'm getitng garbage.. ignore"

as for computers ruining phones
y the hell wld we sync the phone then?

You can actually ruin (though not permanently) a phone with a computer. All you need is an old nokia (3330 or so...) and an mbus cable

I have a friend who used to climb the laser tag league ladder by taking a self-learn remote and teach it his gun's signal. He then had a very broad laser (IR signal from remote - not many ppl know it's the same thing). By shooting the mirror ball he could score points against everyone in the game with 1 shot. Perhaps this is what they are scared of? Too much of this kind of abuse using your p800 infrared and the whole game business would collapse.

Blasted cheat! lol. I used to a Quasar arena and you couldn't learn the signals fromn the guns too easily.

@Verm, I allow ppl to run, and I always run myself, they have dumb rules also like "no crouching" and "no swearing" lol
They suck!

Good game though, except the guns suck cuz you have to have both hands on the gun because they have sensors on :{
