> Broken SIM - p800 issue?
Bookmark topic
My SIM just failed. It was sitting in my p800 in the cradle charging and untouched. Worked fine to receive an SMS in the morning, and when I checked later it was on "emergency calls only". I was NOT taking it in and out, and I wasn;t even carrying the phone around. Has anyone else had this happen? Could it be linked to the p800 and charging, or can these things just fail without even being touched?

"emergancy calls only" appears when you are in a zone that doesnt have a signal for your network.

see MixiN's reply.
Commonly happens when you're in a elevator/lift or in a basement of a building/bank strongroom, enclosed area etc..you get the picture..
Of course, not paying bills may also result in this error. I think that if the sim itself is broken, you'd get a "sim error" or "insert sim" message.

I had this last night - weird, since I often make calls using handsfree while the P800's in its cradle. Moving around the house did nothing, nor did switching to 'flight' mode, but switching it off/on did the trick.

My apologies to SE: If was not a broken SIM, but rather a dumb-ass provider that transposed two digits and cancelled my SIM card whilst re-issuing someone elses!! I was worried as hell that I was the victim of some scam having sold my T68i which was still under contract - but no worris now.
