Hi everybody!
I have some problems with my phone and I was wondering if you had some answers to give me...
a) I have a problem with my phone book. I recently noticed that something like 27 blank entries appreared at the end of my alphabetical list. By blank entries I mean that there is absolutely nothing in it, if you try to open one nothing happens and more important if you want to delete them, you get a "failed" message. Actually the only way you know there are here is because of the voice command icon that there is at the right of the empty line.... I tried to delete these entries by going to the voice commands list but they don't appear there, I just have my actual voice commands listed. (unfortunately I don't have a camera, but basically I have 27 blank entries at the end of my phone book and no way to delete them).
I should probably add that I didn't created them, they just appeared like that, it wasn't because of a synch witht outlook, I didn't did any for a while. I think that it was because a recent freeze of the soft which leads me to remove the battery.
Did that happen to any of you guys? Any solution to resolve this withoud having to delete all my contacts (which I wouldn't mind if I didn't have to re-do all my voice commands..

, especially since we are up to do that anyway next month with the soft update...
b) smaller problem, but still... I'm having some strange noise with the "No" button, sometimes it "squeaks" and it can be very annoying, especially when you're in a quiet environnement like hospital or cinema (it can be quite loud...). I know this sounds stupid but so does the noise, people seems to believe I have some cheap toy-phone in the hands!
Other keypad problem, from time to time (quite frequently though), my joystick gets stuck in the "up" position so it keeps scrolling (you need to move it down to have it unstuck...), quite annoying when your going through your contacts or wap...
c) Now this is another problem which seems to be quite common around here but I'm going to tell you anyway: my phone keeps freezing!
As I already said, it seems to be pretty common with the T68, but my concerns is that since I changed my operator and had my number transfered I have the feeling that it crashes more often now than with the old operator. I mean before, it crashed when I was actually "using" the phone (bluetooth, wap, etc...) but now it's getting really annoying because it reboots itself automatically (and gets stuck with the pin code request page) when it on standby in my pocket! So from time to time if I don't get calls for a while, I check my phone only to see that it has shutdown!
Okay, I know I'm telling you a lot of weird stuff and I don't know if you have any idea of what I talking about, but I guess my question is : Is all that stuff pretty common and do you have some solutions or should I go at my SP and have it fixed under warranty?
BTW, my phone has the R2A soft and R3A hard....
Thanks in advance!

b) it's your cover that needs adjusting... either just by opening it and put it back together again, or change the cover.....
c) you can try to disable the GPRS service (Connect -> Data comm. -> Pref. service -> GSM only), if this helps, then you know what it is

if it doesn't help, then there is nothing you can do but to leave it at a servicepoint and they'll look at it....

I got blank entries in my phonebook after I accidentaly removed the battery while the phone was turned on. What I did was to delete _ALL_ entries in the phonebook, and then moved the ones from the SIM card back to the phonebook. (Or was it vise verca?)
Hope you fix it!

I got your first problem too! I was also about to write here and ask your guys!
It happend 2 days ago. I wanted to call somebody on the call list so I press Yes and then I found 3 or 4 blank entries. At first I thought it was just software problems with the contact list so I ignored it. However, yesterday, I found many contacts missing! They just disappered! Then I found your message and look into the end of the contact and I saw 29 blank entres. 28 of which are with voice command (but I dont think I have that many contact with voice command to begin with).
I have no idea what had happend. The phone has not hang on me these few days and I have not took the battery off without shutting it down first.
My SW and HW are both R1B... ya I know I need to update it but I am waiting for the MMS
Anyone else have this problem?

You can have 510 numbers in your phonebook, not 510 contacts.

My guess is you got the contact on both the phone and the SIM card.
I know I got it still but the phone still only show the ones on the phone it seems like so no problem for me

Well thank you all!

It seems that that I have exactly the same thing than you! I checked it, 28 blank (28 voice commands and 1 "blank-blank" in the middle), and missing contacts... strange... Anyway, it seems I didn't have much choice but erase all of it. I just had my phone synched with outlook so all I have to do is make one more time all the voice commands (what a pain in the ass!!)
> kogos & dw
mbjc is right, I just checked, it counts numbers and not contacts, if you have three numbers per contact, then the memory check gives you 3 more (thank you for that mbjc, I had no idea since I only use 132 that's not a problem...).

thank you, it seems that I'll have to go to my service point (and wait for 1 hour for them to tell me that the technician in charge of ericsson is not here! Grrr....), I still don't understand the squeaking thing tough, I never dropped it once and I'm very careful with it, how could have it been misadjust? Well, anyway, back to the service point, no way I'm opening this phone which seems to be some beta version of the T68i...

Hi,
Well I do have problems with outlook too, but it's office 2000 and windows 2000... I'm not planning on upgrading since I've never had so few bluescreens with a microsoft os
But, anyway, you might check this other post about IrDa, I found one 2 cents solution for my problem, though I doubt it will work with your problem, but worth a try....
